CrossFit is a training method/sport, which is based on a constantly varried pattern of workouts with functional movements performed at high intensity.
But what do all these mean?!
A) Training method: Train under a program proven scientifically to improve our fitness level, our health and our everyday life.
B) Sport: Exercises feature specific characteristics that are measurable and repeatable as well as scalable for all humans. These give the opportunity to the person to track his progress clearly, while he can compare himself to other athletes around the world. Quintessence of this, the World Fitness Championship which through competition proves the Fittest Women and Men on Earth! (CrossFit Games)
C) Functional movements: Exercises based on movement we perform on everyday life: Forget machines, forget single muscle-joint exercises. Our body is the machine and we train it through functional movements we do everyday... for life itself!
D) Constantly varried: Everyday a new Workout, everyday a new challenge! Impossible to get into a routine while you discover new things you didn't know your body could do!
E) High intensity: Ancient Greeks would say "Ouk en to polo to ef, ala en to ef to poly" - «Οὐκ ἐν τῷ πολλῷ τὸ εὖ, ἀλλ᾿ ἐν τῷ εὖ τὸ πολύ» (There are more in good, than in many). We do not need endless hours in the gyms to achieve our personal goal (loss of weight, muscle gain, fitness, health, rehabilitation etc.). CrossFit's Daily practice lasts just 1 hour max, including Warmup and Cooldown.
